Project title: Thinking with Data: Clinical Applications of Biostatistics, AI and Neuroimaging in Mental Health

Country: Argentina

Anchoring institution: Universidad de Buenos Aires

Dates running: 2026-2027

Status: Ongoing

Project description

Neurotorium is proud to support a new 6-day hybrid “computational psychiatry & neurology” bootcamp for early-career psychiatrists and neurologists across Latin America.

Participants will learn how to think critically about statistics, computational modelling, neuroimaging and AI, and how to apply these tools responsibly in real clinical questions, with a special focus on schizophrenia and alcohol use disorder.

Taught by an interdisciplinary expert team, the course blends interactive teaching with case-based discussions and a collaborative data challenge, to help clinicians understand more, and become confident, reflective users of these emergent technologies.

All materials will be open-access, designed to support ongoing peer learning and local replication across the region.

About Neurotorium’s Clinical Education Grants

Neurotorium is offering Clinical Education Grants to support non-profit educational projects aimed at strengthening clinical competencies within the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of psychiatric and neurological disorders through educational activities aimed at healthcare professionals.

Applicants can request up to 100,000 DKK (approximately $15,000 USD) per year for a duration of one to three years. The budget can only include direct costs. Projects must incorporate Neurotorium’s educational resources, be anchored within established non-commercial organizations (such as universities, hospitals, or NGOs), and demonstrate potential to positively impact clinical practice.
