Bipolar disorder (BD) includes several disorders of emotion, thought, and energy, characterized by biphasic mood episodes of mania or hypomania and depression.1

In the DSM-5-TR, BD-I is characterized by ≥1 manic episode, whereas BD-II is characterized by ≥1 hypomanic, and ≥1 depressive episode.2
