This study analysed the trajectories of 261 people after a first episode of psychosis.1 Four trajectories were broadly identified, as shown on the slide:1
mild impairment with an improving trajectory (38.3% of patients)
moderate impairment with a stable trajectory (18.4% of the patients)
severe impairment with an improving trajectory (12.3% of patients)
severe impairment with a stable trajectory (31.0% of patients).
The more resilient trajectories, i.e., those of ‘improving trajectory’, were associated with higher parental socioeconomic status, less severe baseline symptoms, better premorbid adjustment, and better baseline verbal and memory functioning.3
