As outlined on the slide, global trends of stroke outcomes, including incidence, mortality, and disability, have increased over the past decades.1 However, because of disparities between low- and middle- income countries and high-income countries, the burden of these increases has fallen more heavily on low-income countries.1 If trends continue, the World Stroke Organization has cautioned that the global cost of stroke is set to increase.2
