This systematic literature review and meta-analysis included data from 22 hospital-based cohorts, and 8 population-based cohorts, amounting to a total of 8,705 patients, described across 73 publications.1 Many different factors were identified as risk factors for dementia after stroke, as shown on the slide.1 Dementia appeared to be strongly associated with multiple strokes, reinforcing the importance of good management and patient care to reduce the later burden of dementia.1
