This Cochrane analysis found a total of 49 studies of interventions for post-stroke depression that met the inclusion criteria, including a total of 3,342 participants.1 Both pharmacotherapy and psychotherapy resulted in fewer people meeting the criteria for depression.1 The overall certainty of the evidence was rated as very low, because of small numbers of participants in the studies, and recruitment of people into the studies with large differences in baseline characteristics.1
