In 2024 The Lancet published two competing research-focused biological frameworks that were proposed to move the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease beyond the presence of a combination of cardinal motor signs and symptoms.3 One of these was the SynNeurGe system, and another was the NSD-ISS system, as summarised on the slide.1,2
