Given the impact that comorbidities can have on substance-use disorder, and vice versa, this analysis attempted to interrogate these interactions by comparing the co-occurrences of independent and addiction-dependent disorder among a population of users of illicit substances. [1] In multinominal logistic regression analysis with substance-use disorder as the only reference group, being female and having lifetime borderline personality disorder significantly increased the risk of independent psychiatric disorders.[1] The risk of substance-use-induced disorders among users of illicit substances highlights the need to consider treatments in this population group, with a particular focus on female drug users.[1]
