The sagittal view of a rodent brain shown on the slide highlights some circuits that have been linked to anxiety-like behaviours.2 Many brain areas regulate emotion – including the amygdala, medial prefrontal cortex, the hippocampus, and the bed nucleus of the stria terminalis – these areas are interconnected forming complex neural circuits that mediate anxiety.1
