As outlined on the slide, many different neuropeptides have been linked to psychopathology, including anxiety, such as the peptide cholecystokinin.3 Cholecystokinin has been shown to induce symptoms of anxiety, especially so in people with anxiety disorders.3 Many neurotransmitters are linked to psychopathology, such as GABA and serotonin in anxiety disorders.1,2
