There are many different psychotherapeutic approaches to treating bipolar disorder, some of which are outlined on the slide.1 Generally, when added to pharmacotherapy, these psychotherapies can reduce the risk of relapse, and reduce the burden of symptoms on patients and their families.1
An integrated approach to care management targets both the patient and the care provider, using strategies of case management in conjunction with psychotherapy.1 It provides psychoeducation and illness management skills, improvements to infrastructure aim to enhance communication between patient and healthcare providers, and aims to support provider decision-making ability.1
