There is a relatively broad range of symptomatologic overlap between bipolar disorder and eating disorders, including emotional reactivity, impulsivity, cyclicity, depressive symptoms, and weight changes.2,3 Whilst sharing some symptoms, bipolar disorder and various eating disorders commonly present in the same patient, as outlined on the slide.2-4 However, studies into this comorbidity widely vary – by the populations that are studied and the tools used to diagnose patients – making comparisons and conclusions across the literature a challenge.3
