This meta-analysis found six studies that used the Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery (CANTAB), to enable consistent assessment of a broad range of cognitive domains.1 As shown on the slide, when compared with control individuals, the performance of people with remitted MDD showed considerable deficits in measures of executive function, as well as in some measure of memory and attention.1 The authors argue that cognitive impairment in people with depression lingers well after the resolution of mood symptoms, and should be a target for treatment.1
