This systematic review aimed to investigate the quality of stroke-specific guidelines used in low- and middle-income countries compared with those from high-income countries.1 A total of 108 guidelines were identified and compared, from 47 different countries – 4 low-income, 24 middle-income, and 19 high-income countries.1 The review found that most guidelines available in low- and middle-income countries were generally less thorough, and were less transparent, than guidelines from high-income countries.1 The authors call for guidelines to be developed for low- and middle-income countries that are translatable into the relevant languages for those countries, and that consider the context of stroke treatment in those countries.1
