Whilst the use and trafficking of cannabis poses challenges to most parts of the world, there are specific drug issues that create problems in different regions.1 This ranges from the evolving route of cocaine trafficking from South America to Europe, to the rapid emergence of new psychoactive substances in some low- and middle-income countries.1
