The International Burden of Migraine Study (IBMS) quantified the costs of migraine treatment across five countries in Europe: the United Kingdom (UK), France, Germany, Italy, and Spain.[Bloudek et al., 2012] As shown on the slide, per-patient costs were highest in the UK, and lowest in France and Germany.[Bloudek et al., 2012] Chronic migraine was associated with greater costs compared with episodic migraine.[Bloudek et al., 2012]
