NSD-ISS – biological staging of Parkinson’s disease

In 2024 The Lancet Neurology published two competing biological frameworks that were proposed to move the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease beyond the presence of a combination of cardinal motor signs and symptoms.² One of these was the NSD-ISS system, as summarised on the slide.¹
