In the ICD-11, there is a spectrum of substance-use disorders, which are coded and diagnosed hierarchically, as shown on the slide.[1,2]
Within the criteria for harmful pattern of substance use, or a single episode of harmful substance use, harm to the health of others includes any form of physical harm, including trauma, or mental disorder that is directly attributable to behaviour related to intoxication on the part of the person to whom the diagnosis applies.[2]
