Substance Use Disorders

Substance use disorders (SUD), and addictions in general, are characterized by the compulsion to seek or take a substance or engage in a behaviour, and a loss of control associated with this. Substance use and addiction are burdensome and have a complex aetiologies, involving the interplay of known and unknown genetic and environmental factors.
