Laser interstitial thermal therapy: factors to consider

It is suggested that laser interstitial thermal therapy may be a preferred option in patients with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy with hippocampal sclerosis, and also for treatment of epilepsies arising from structures deep within the brain that are difficult to reach safely with open surgery.¹
